Procedures

Breakfast
Ravenswood School participates in CPS’ district-wide “Morning Max” breakfast-in-the-classroom program. Each morning, as students enter the building, they are offered a cold breakfast option or a hot breakfast option to take to their classrooms. Students are invited to eat breakfast during the first 10 minutes of class, while teachers take attendance, collect homework assignments and gather lunch money.

Breakfast is offered to all students at no-charge. Students are not required to accept either breakfast option. Click here for more information about CPS’ Morning Max breakfast program. http://www.cps.edu/Spotlight/Documents/MorningMax_Faqs.pdf

Lunch
All K-8 students have an assigned lunch period in the cafeteria (Tuition-based Pre-K students eat in their classrooms). Students may bring a packed lunch from home, or opt for a school-provided hot lunch.

Hot Lunch
All students may select a school-provided hot lunch for free.

Lunch from Home
No refrigeration is available for packed lunches. Insulated lunch bags and cold packs are recommended.

Food Allergies
Ravenswood School takes your child’s health very seriously. If your child has a food allergy, please advise his or her teacher immediately. Our school nurse will work with you to develop a 504 plan, which is a medical plan that details how the school will accommodate your child’s needs for health, safety, comfort and privacy.
