Dear Ravenswood Families and Friends,
You may have heard your student talking about the MAP(2-8) test or the ACCESS (K-8) test recently. Both take place in January and the two assessments serve different purposes. The MAP, when given midyear, is an instructional tool used by staff to determine where a student may need additional supports and to gauge progress midway through the year. The ACCESS test is given to English Learner students to measure language proficiency. Neither are “high stakes” tests in the sense that neither carry promotion ramifications for your student. If you have questions about either, please don’t hesitate to reach out email.
Final call for teams! If you’re not into playing, we still encourage you to come out for an evening of fun and community building this Friday evening. Thanks to our neighbor Half Acre for hosting our after party!
Day of Service
Nothing beats the doldrums of winter like moving and volunteerism! Bring your family and join us for two hours of services around the school onSaturday, February 3rd. No technical skills needed but all skills welcome! See below for more info on this family-friendly event. Oh, and there’s that chili cook-off lunch option as well…
As a fine and performing arts magnet school, Ravenswood is proud to showcase our student’s arts learning several times each year. Our winter showcase will highlight student work across the three arts we offer and promises to be a powerful reminder of why we invest in the arts. Join usFebruary 1st at 9:15am and 2:15pm in the gymnasium.
Have a great week, everyone.
Mr. Manaen and Mrs. Welsh
PS- Know anyone planning to register their child as a new student at Ravenswood next year? Have them fill out this form so we can prepare for their registration!
