The corner of Montrose and Paulina houses a public art project consisting of an artistic sculptural base for the marquee sign on the north lawn. The sculptural base includes a bench and planters in a style that is complementary to the student-designed mosaic-wrapped planters on Montrose.
We have a few more weeks before the project is COMPLETE! We would love some extra hands on Tuesdays from Noon-3pm. Any amount of time would be extremely helpful. Sign up here to help.
It is part of our campus beautification project where we “turn the school inside out” and put on public display evidence of the wonderful things that happen inside our building every day. Rochelle Borrett, a teaching artist from ArtReach (the non-profit arm of Lillstreet Art Center), has led Ravenswood students, families and community members through the design and construction of mosaic art pieces that envelope the concrete base of the electronic marquee to make Montrose and Paulina corner a true community landmark!
The Ravenswood School Public Art partnership with ArtReach is sponsored by Friends of Ravenswood School, and is made possible by a generous grant from Barrett & Porto Real Estate LLC, the developers of the complex that houses Mariano’s and LA Fitness on Lawrence.
